Nanowrimo ^.^

Wow, I can't believe that I forgot to tell you guys this. But this is my second year of doing Nanowrimo.
More info can be found here.

And I finally have a cover made for my nanowrimo book, Immortality Doesn't Exist. It was made by a very creative person on the main Nanowrimo forums. It's possibly, one of my favorite book covers ever, that was made for me. And, I find that it fits my book perfectly.

I would say what my book is about by now, but in truth I barely have any idea myself. Other than the fact that it deals with a darkness that wants to be... not so alone in life. It also deals with the fine line between dreams and reality. And how dreams are actually a reality that you have to face, no matter what.

Camp Nanowrimo ~

Camp NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) - A writing event that is like NaNoWriMo only it is held in the summer months of July and/or August. It is where you try to write 50 thousand words in a single month.

Today is day four of Camp NaNoWriMo, and today I'm supposed to have about... 6452 words according to the calendar that I made.

(Click for a larger version)
And right now, I currently have about 8,061 words. It's not a lot for those who has done Nanowrimo before, but it's a lot to me. I'm pleased with myself for even having that much words in just a short amount of time, considering that I've never tried to write 50 thousand words before.

And Camp Nanowrimo or plain old Nanowrimo lets you do that. Just write fifty thousand words of your novel (or poetry, or script, or whatever), without really worrying about what is going on the page. It's nice because the book that you have been wanting to write for years is now suddenly out on paper free from your  head. So if you love writing and want a book that was written by you, then I recommend doing Nanowrimo, and if you're a bit impatient and want to start now, then start now. It isn't too late to join Camp Nanowrimo, though you'll have a lot of words to catch up on.

Editing

I'm finally editing my book that I'm going to send to createspace using the code that I won from Nanowrimo. So I'm sorry if I won't be posting anything for a while. I really want the five free proof copies because it would be amazing to have my words become tangible. Unfortunately, the code expires on June 30, and I've been procrastinating on it a lot...

So off to work I go. Good luck on whatever you're working on. And I hope you have an amazing day.

Starbucks
~~~~~~~~~~
                “Ouch,” just hat one word sent a whole spasm of pain to shoot everywhere in my fragile body. I was very close to death, and I knew it, but no one else would ever know, not even her.
                “Valley, are you okay? Valley?” asks little Mia worry coating her voice.
                “Mia, do you remember the first day we met?” I say changing the subject. I couldn’t let her know that I was dying, not now and not ever.
                “Yeah, I remember,” she says confused.
                “Go back and fully remember it please for me?” I breathe out as forcefully as I can, but before I can see if she agreed, I started to remember it myself.
                It was a stormy day; I was at Starbucks with my sick boyfriend. One of his final death wishes was for us to go to Starbucks together where we first met. And I agreed, dreading the day when he’ll be gone. We’ve been through too much together, and yet he had skin cancer through it all, where he found it a bit too late. We were sitting together, my head resting on his shoulder, his frail arm around me. His breathing was slow and steady, as well as mine. It was a perfect moment the only thing that was separating us was a coffee cup.
                Noise was everywhere, from business people talking on their cell phones, to the steady quick typing of the novelists doing the annual Nanowrimo. There were also constant little giggles of the schoolgirls nearby eyeing the classic high school player.
                “Valley-” he yelped in pain as a cup of coffee flew into his lap.
                “Nate! Are you okay?!” I start freaking out grabbing a bunch of napkins to soak up his quickly growing stain.
                “Oh my gosh! I’m so, so sorry,” said Little Mia freaking out. And just those seven words quickly made us friends.
Now it has been two years, and I was battling with breast cancer found too late. Just exactly, how it was like, for Nate, I almost smile as Little Mia’s face started to light up with understanding. Tears started to form in her eyes her hands shaking almost spilling the coffee cup. The nanos and the wrimos were quickly typing up their novels, the business people were talking about the next new big thing, and the girls were giggling eyeing the new it high school boy.
                “Well good bye,” she says.
                “It has been a good two years, Little Mia,” I say, before standing up to leave Starbucks and Little Mia forever.
